Short of global thermonuclear warfare I really can't see my PC being dc'd from the internet as my home internet + my personal cell phones tethering + my work phones tethering would all have to go down for me to not be able to play, so if that happens, well that's a price i'm willing to pay for no cheating. Which is awesome for some of us as it'll make cheating very *very* difficult. Also the price of it crashed dramatically on Steam after a couple of months.
I suspect that Runic is liable to treat TL2 as a fundraiser for their future MMO so I'm leery to buy it I recall patching for TL1 occurred a couple of times and then abruptly stopped. Basically, imagine playing Diablo II with no Single Player or Open Battle.Net mode. Yep, Diablo III is said to need a persistent connection to Blizzard's servers, even for SP. I mean, I haven't gamed on a PC in a long time but how often is your PC "offline"?ĭo you have to connect to an official Blizzard server to play SIngleplayer or something? I respect your reason for not wanting to buy D3, but I don't understand why the DRM is a big deal.
I am hoping they are going to release Torchlight 2 on the 360, I would definitely buy it as that is where I do the majority of my playing of games these days. But any game that requires me to be online to play it single player can go fuck itself. If they release a 360 version of Diablo 3, I would definitely buy that though.
The DRM is the entire reason I will not buy Diablo 3. 1 was good, but it can be better.ĭifferent strokes for different folks i guess, the drm is my favorite part of d3 (odd to hear me saying that as I was always vehemently against drm, but man i love the way blizz is implementing it and why) I just hope Torchlight 2 turns out better than Torchlight 1. I'd rather pay $20 for the entire game and not have to worry about DRM or whatever. I was turned off of D3 by the DRM and cash auction.
